Description
Light and shadow and water reflections at the the pond in the Oikeniwa Garden at the Imperial Palace in Kyoto, Japan. The Palace was the seat of Japan from the late 700's until the mid 1800's when the capital moved to Edo, whose name was then changed to Tokyo. The Kyoto Palace has a garden within the old palace enclosure with a style somewhat based on the Heian shinden-zukuri style, with large gravel courtyards and a small pond garden.
