A black and white photo of demonstrators marching down 14th Street by the Washington Monument at the Women's March on Washington, held on January 21, 2017, the day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. The March was organized as a grass roots movement to protest the rhetoric of the just concluded election cycle, that the organizers believed insulted, demonized, and threatened many groups. By marching in great numbers, they hoped to send a message to the newly elected president about the issues they deemed important and threatened.
