Description
Details of the rock formations in the Dades Gorge region of Morocco, between Tinghir and Skoura. The drive through this area was stunningly beautiful, as it passes through mountains and gorges and the occasional green oasis with date trees and farm fields contrasted with the surrounding brown mountains and pockets of towns and cities, new and old. Because the unusual rock formations looks like fingers rising from the river below, the cliffs are sometimes known as Monkey Fingers, or Monkey Paws, and my local guide called them Gorilla Fingers, though that could have just been a translation issue. Whatever you call them, they are unusual and beautiful.
