Moraine Lake is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park, just outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. I took this black and white photo in the second week of June 2014. Because spring came late to the Canadian Rockies this year, the lake was still very shallow as the glacial runoff had yet to fill it. This view is known as the Valley of the Ten Peaks.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
