Moulay Idriss, or Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, is located between Chefchaouen and Meknes in Morocco. It is considered a holy town to the Moroccan people because Moulay Idriss I came here in 789, bringing with him the religion of Shiism, and starting a new dynasty.

The town's medina, or old town, is similar to the medinas in other cities in Morocco, with small and narrow streets. You can also see what would otherwise be plain stone walls and wooden doors painted with beautiful scenes and designs with rich colors, and find old tires creatively used a flower planters.

I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
