Description
When most people think of Washington, DC, images of the National Mal and its monuments and memorials, the White House, the Capital, the Smithsonian Museums, and neighborhoods like Georgetown and Capital Hill all come to mind. Running through the middle of the city, however, is a lovely creek and park that divides the east and west parts of the city. Rock Creek is the name of both the creek and the park and it provides beautiful hiking and nature trails and activities. One part of the creek, near Pierce Mill, an historic mill building, has this small waterfall. When I was there last winter, the remains of a fallen tree balanced over the creek.
