Description
Upon arriving at Cill Chriosd, a former parish church of Strath on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, I first noticed that church and adjacent cemetery were surrounded by a metal fence with an entry gate that has a sign asking that the gate be kept closed to keep out the sheep. The sheep, however, had other ideas, because despite the gate and sign, there were many of them grazing throughout the grounds.
The church and cemetery location is believed to have a heritage of Christian worship dating back to the 7th century, but most graves are from the 18th and 19th centuries and are connected to the MacKinnon Clan.
