Description
One of the highlights of my trip to Morocco was a visit to Erg Chebbi -- one of Morocco's several large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand that is in the south of the country near the Sahara Desert. While there, I spent part of a day at a village of Sundanese people where a group of tribesman sang and played traditional music. This image is a closeup of one of the musicians who was playing a painted skin-covered, 3-stringed instrument. I'm not sure exactly what is called, but my internet research suggests it might be an instrument called the sintir. Whatever it was, watching and listening to the performance was a treat.
