Description
A tagine is a cone-shaped earthenware pot used to prepare a dish also called tagine. Historically, North Africa nomads used the tagine pot as a portable oven, allowing them to prepare food anytime while moving around. I saw this arrangement of tagines at a ceramics and pottery factory and store in Fes, Morocco. They had been shaped and dried and were awaiting further finishing.
