A view of some of the more modern buildings in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, taken from the 13 story Skyscraper (Nebotičnik) building. The Skyscraper was the tallest building on the Balkans and the ninth tallest building in Europe at the time of its construction. On the top floor is a restaurant with an outdoor area affording 360 degree views of Ljubljana.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
