Description
Located halfway between Lisbon and Porto, the fishing town of Nazare is famous for its beach and huge waves, which can sometimes reach 100 feet high, making it a popular surfing destination.
These waves, on the sunbathers side of town, are far calmer than that, but still very dramatic, and I had a great view of them from an overlook on the upper part of town. A long telephoto lens enabled me to capture a closeup of the power of the waves.
