Sunrise over the Cuernos del Paine mountain peaks and Lake Pehoe in Torres del Paine National Park, in the Patagonia region of Chile, brings a myriad of colors in a matter of minutes. After starting with pastel blues and pinks in the pre-dawn and then deeper blues, magentas, and reds with first rays of light, the sky and lenticular clouds turn yellow and orange as the sun rises higher.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
