Colored light from stained glass windows on the pews inside the Batahla Abbey in Portugal.
The Batahla Monastery dates from the late 1300's, and the colored light from its stained glass windows bathes the seats, columns, walls, and floor in brilliant colors at different times of the day, moving throughout the cathedral as the sun moves across the sky.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
