The bottom of a waterfall at Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia, the home of many amazing waterfalls and cascades. The park is the oldest national park in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. The park was founded in 1949 and is situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia, at the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
