The East and West Buildings of the National Gallery of Art, on the National Mall in Washington, DC, are separated by fountains and glass pyramids that are skylights for the underground concourse connecting the two buildings. This photograph shows half of the West Building of the National Gallery on the left with the reflection of the East Building in the glass pyramid on the right.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
