I was in a balcony overlooking the Jemaa el-Fnaa square and market place in the medina of Marrakech, Morocco, when I spotted a person wearing a red djellaba robe riding by on a motorcycle. My camera was set to a slow shutter speed to blur the motorcycle's movement and I came up with this abstract photograph.

I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
