A row of horses on the carousel on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The carousel was built in 1947 in upstate New York, and is unique because it had only horses, they are all four abreast and all are jumping. A sea dragon was added in 1996, and it is the only seat other than the horses. It is the only operating carousel in Washington, DC.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
