Weathered and worn steps in an alley leading to a stone house and an adjacent alley in Obidos, Portugal. Obidos is a small town on a hilltop that is surrounded by a fortified wall. It is a well-preserved example of medieval architecture, and its streets, squares, walls, and castle make it a popular tourist destination, and it is full of charming sights. Much of the town's architecture looks like this -- white stone buildings with wide strips of yellow and blue trim on the walls.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
