Pingvellir (anglicised as Thingvellir ) National Park Žingvellir is a site of historical, cultural, and geological importance, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland. It lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, and is at the northern end of Žingvallavatn, the largest natural lake in Iceland. It is also the site of the first the Icelandic Parliament, which was established in 930, and where it remained until 1798. It is also incredibly beautiful.
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
