Artist's Description
These are hoodoos and rock formations along the Queens Garden Trail in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. A hoodoo (also called a tent rock, fairy chimney, and earth pyramid) is a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Hoodoos can range from 5-150 feet tall (1.5-45 meters), and typically consist of relatively soft rock topped by harder, less easily eroded stone that protects each column from the elements.
About Stuart Litoff
I guess I've had an off-and-on love affair with photography my whole life. My father was always taking pictures and movies when I was a kid growing up on Long Island, NY in the 1950s-60s, and he gave me my own Kodak Brownie camera when I was around 6 years old. I remember using it to take pictures of family events and a trip to Washington DC, back in 1958. I still have some of the pictures ....... somewhere. Photography moved to the back burner during high school, college, and law school, but I picked it up again after I graduated law school in 1979, moved to Washington DC, and began my legal career with the federal government.
