Description
Two Japanese Red-crowned Cranes fly in for a landing to rejoin part of the flock at the Kushiro marshlands on the island of Hokkaido in Japan. These cranes, also called Manchurian cranes or Japanese cranes, are large East Asian cranes and are among the rarest cranes in the world. In some parts of its range, they are known as a symbol of luck, longevity, and fidelity.
