Description
Riding a camel in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in Morocco was an unforgettable experience mainly because riding a camel was one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever done. Getting off the camel and taking pictures of a blue man leading one over a dune was also unforgettable but in a much better way!
Erg Chebbi one of Morocco's several large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand. While the ergs are within an area of semi-arid Pre-Saharan Steppes, and not technically part of the Sahara desert which lies some distance to the south, it sure looked like how I had always imagined the Sahara Desert would look. Adding camels to the scene made it just about perfect.
