Rabbitbrush along the south rim of the Grand Canyon in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. Rabbitbrush, or Chrysothamnus nauseosus, is part of the sunflower family, It flowers in late summer and early fall, and grows abundantly along Canyon's rim. The seeds are edible, and the Navajo use them to make bread or mush. The leaves and roots are also used medicinally for headache, colds, and internal injuries, and the plant is also used for dyes.
