Description
The Hassan II Mosque was one of my stops when I visited Casablanca, Morocco. The mosque has a main level, that is the most popular area for any tour, but it also has a lower where you can find the men’s ablution chamber, which had beautiful stone and mosaic pillars and fountains for ritual washing. Going from the main level to the lower level takes you outside to a small, open-air enclosure with pillars supporting an intricate dome. I looked up in the middle of that area with a very wide angle lens on my camera and captured this somewhat abstract photo of the dome's interior supported by two large columns, which I have processed in black and white.
